Re-Entry

Stitches West was: fantastic, exhilarating, exhausting, tiring, and totally draining. It was a wonderful experience, and I sold quite a bit (and bought quite a bit), but the crazy rush getting ready up to those four days and the non-stop-ness of Stitches took more out of me than I thought it would. I totally expected to come back, sleep for a day, and jump right back into work, but it didn't work out that way. Instead, I slept for a week. I think I was so exhausted because I'd been really running on excessive caffeine ingestion and adrenaline, and when it was all over, my body just revolted. Everytime I would even think about the dyepots, I would get depressed. :-)

But, now, I'm feeling more myself. A whole day climbing outside yesterday did much to restore me, and I can now face work with enthusiasm.

Right before Stitches, I started a pair of socks for myself in Circe sock in Olive Leaf:

They're knit on size O Addi Lace turbos, and the pattern is the openwork rib from Sensational Knitted Socks. They're the perfect socks for taking around; easy to memorize, and just enough going on to be interesting without being boring.

I've also started an Ene's scarf from Scarf Style in Siren Two lace in Saffron:

This is slower going; while I find lace very relaxing, I'm not very good at it, and I have to concentrate. I know the border is a little wonky, and there are multiple other mistakes, but I'm quite pleased with it nevertheless. The yarn is a dream to work with, and I can't wait for the finished product.
